SUKKUR: A policeman was martyred and his driver injured in a shootout with outlaws in district Qambar-Shahdadkot on Sunday.
According to reports, a gun battle started between the policemen and outlaws on Kubbo Road near new Sabzi Mandi in Qambar-Shahdadkot after they attacked the police mobile which was on its routine patrol in the area. In an ensuing exchange of gunfire, police constable Syed Gada Hussain Shah was martyred, while the driver of police mobile was injured. A heavy contingent of police rushed to the scene but the criminals managed to flee.
The funeral prayer of the martyred police constable was performed in his native city of Shahdadkot, which was attended by Qambar-Shahdadkot SSP Muhammad Kaleem Malik, local people and a large number of police officers and Rangers personnel. The martyred cop had joined the Sindh Police in 2008, after which he performed his duties at different places.
