The Institute of Business Administration (IBA) Karachi and Saylani Welfare International Trust (SWIT) have joined hands to impart entrepreneurial skills to the city’s youth through a short course.
A ceremony was held at the IBA City campus to mark the launching of the Spark Start, a three-month learning programme on entrepreneurship.
The SWIT has been partnering with the Centre for Entrepreneurial Development of the IBA to conduct the training course.
Speaking to the students enrolled in the first batch of the course, SWIT Chairman Maulana Bashir Farooq Qadri said that practising entrepreneurship was fully in line with the life and practices of the Holy Prophet (PBUH).
He said the short training course had been introduced in line with the vision of his non-profit, which stood for imparting quality education to every youth in the country and helping them achieve economic self-reliance by launching their businesses.
He reiterated the resolve of his charity to continue making efforts to help out underprivileged families by fulfilling their basic food, shelter and educational needs.
He urged the young course participants to practise commerce to play their due role in ending the economic woes of Pakistan and reducing its foreign debt.
Noted businessman and Saylani Trust’s Adviser Amjad Chamdia said the short course would help Karachi’s youth launch businesses with their entrepreneurial skills and aptitude regardless of the limited financial resources available to them.
He said that earlier the Saylani Trust had launched its mass IT education programme to help Pakistani youth launch their tech businesses and startups instead of waiting for their absorption by the Pakistani job
market.
He urged the students to show perseverance and self-determination for their success in practical life, especially in the field of entrepreneurship.
Dr Imran Khan from the IBA in his technical session urged students to stay connected with relevant businesses for the growth of their startups after entering the field of entrepreneurship.
