Sharjeel congratulates KUJ’s new office-bearers
Sindh Senior Minister for Information Sharjeel Inam Memon has congratulated the newly elected office-bearers of the Karachi Union of Journalists (KUJ). Memon congratulated Ejaz Ahmed on becoming president and Lubna Jarar general secretary of the KUJ.
In his congratulatory message Memon hoped that the collective experience and the commitment of the new leadership of the KUJ would go a long way in strengthening the role of the press and the media in the country.
He mentioned that the provincial government, in partnership with the KUJ and other representative bodies of media persons, had always played a positive role for ensuring the freedom of speech in the country.
He reiterated the firm resolve of the provincial government to safeguard the fundamental rights of journalists, and to ensure the freedom of the media for the betterment of society.
