A walk was organised at the Mazar-e-Quaid on Sunday to express solidarity with the Kashmiri people.
Deputy Commissioner Shahzad Fazal Abbasi and Assistant Commissioner Dr Esa Khan also participated in the event led by Azad Jammu & Kashmir All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) General Secretary Advocate Parvaiz Ahmed, senior leader Syed Ajaz Ahmed and Shaikh Abdul Majid to express unwavering support for the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination.
Addressing the gathering, Abbasi stressed that Kashmir was Pakistan’s pride and it was our responsibility to support the Kashmiri brothers and sisters at every level.
His remarks underscored Pakistan’s longstanding commitment to the Kashmir cause and reaffirmed that the struggle of the Kashmiri people resonated deeply with the people of Pakistan.
The assistant commissioner explained that the right to self-determination is a universally-recognised principle. The international community must raise its voice for the fundamental rights of Kashmiris, he added.
The Azad Kashmir APHC general secretary expressed profound gratitude to all participants for expressing solidarity with the Kashmiri people. He remarked that India had deployed all means to suppress the spirit of the Kashmiri people yet Kashmiris had demonstrated an unbreakable resolve for their rightful cause. Their uncountable sacrifices would not be in vain and they would not yield until they achieved independence from India and united with Pakistan, he said.
