FLC students, faculty visit Judicial Academy

PESHAWAR: The LLB final semester students of the Frontier Law College (FLC) visited the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Judicial Academy here on Saturday.

The college’s founder and director Advocate Akhtar Ali Khan, former Peshawar High Court judge and college principal Justice (r) Syed Yahya Zahid Gillani and faculty members accompanied the students’ delegation.

Acting Director General Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Judicial Academy Aurangzeb Khan Khalil, Dean of Faculty Ziaur Rahman, Director Research and Publications Dr Qazi Attaullah, Director Instructions Faryal Zia Mufti, Director Instructions Wajid Ali, Research and Publications Officer Syed Mansoor Shah Bukhari, Admin Officer Sajid Amin and Director of IT Lal Shah briefed the students and faculty members about the academy performance during the visit.

The Dean of Faculty Judicial Academy Ziaur Rahman welcomed the delegation and highlighted the objectives of the academy. He appreciated the Frontier Law College administration’s efforts to organise study tours as part of legal education.

Briefing the delegation about the administrative structure and functioning of the academy, he said that the academy was established through an Act of the Assembly in July 2012, and in August 2012, the Judicial Academy formally launched training programmes.

The main purpose of these programmes, he added, was to provide training courses to the judges of district judiciary, court staff and all stakeholders associated with the justice system to meet modern-day requirements.

Akhtar Ali Khan, the founder and director of Frontier Law College, praised the achievements of the Judicial Academy in the field of legal education and training.

Later, shields were exchanged by both institutions, and faculty members and students of the college were given a tour of the various departments of the Judicial Academy.
