Measures being implemented against responsibles for inciting chaos through false campaign

LAHORE: Police have arrested at least 16 individuals involved in promoting a fabricated rape story concerning a female college student on social media.

According to the DIG of Organised Crime, 138 accounts disseminating false information have been blocked. While 40 students engaged in vandalism and violence were identified, no action has been taken against them at this time.

However, measures are being implemented against those responsible for inciting chaos through the false campaign on social media. Doctor recovered; eight kidnappers held: The Kidnapping for Ransom Cell recovered Dr Ahsan of a private university from the Gajjumatta area and arrested eight kidnappers including the ringleaders of the gang.

Khurram Latif, Abdullah, Saifullah, and Haseebul Hasan were among the arrested kidnappers.

They allegedly abducted Dr Ahsan, restrained him with ropes, and transported him to an undisclosed location. The suspects also recorded a video of Dr Ahsan, which they sent to his mother along with a ransom demand of Rs20 million.
