The District East senior superintendent of police has announced a policy for curbing the menace of violent crime in the district and ordered its strict implementation.

He added that these measures are expected to improve the situation, and in this regard the force is being increased and additional vehicles and motorcycles are being provided for patrolling.

SSP Raza said one DSP will personally check the patrolling on a daily basis, and a monitoring team has been formed in the district. He said employees who have been posted at a police station for a long time and who have become inactive due to permanent posting are being transferred.

Moreover, following steps have been taken to identify the culprits of the crime that took place in the last week; a team has been formed which is working and the technical team is working separately on it; and the SHO has been made responsible and given five days’ time to give progress; otherwise, action will be taken.

He added that the Jamali Bridge’s location has been in the headlines for crime in the past. In this regard, a strategy was made on May 15, 2024, due to which crime decreased and results were achieved.

The incidents that took place last week were reported on the link roads around the Jamali Bridge, and the current strategy is being enforced, the results of which will start coming soon.
