TAKHTBHAI: Sri Lankan Minister of Primary Industry, Daya Gamage, on Tuesday lauded the government of Pakistan’s efforts for maintaining the Buddhist Remains’ sites across the country particularly in Takhtbhai.
Daya Gamage, and his better half, Mrs. Anoma Gamage, who is also a minister for petroleum and natural resources, were accompanying a group of some 16 monks, and eight woman tourists to visit Takhbhai Buddhist monastery.
The visit for the Sri Lankan tourists was arranged by Federal Secretary National History and Literary Division, Mohsin S. Haqqani. The monks and foreign dignitaries performed prayers at the main stupa and visited various parts of the Bhuddist remains.
Speaking to journalists, Minister Daya Gamage said the maintenance and good care of the archeological sites reflected on Pakistani people’s religious tolerance.
