Expo held in Charsadda to promote local products
CHARSADDA: The district administration on Friday organized a two-day business expo at the Abdul Wali Khan Sports Complex in an initiative to promote local businesses.
Organisers said the event showcased locally produced goods to promote local products.
Deputy Commissioner Qaiser Khan inaugurated the expo. Additional Deputy Commissioner Shehbaz Khan Khattak and other officials were also present. A good number of people particularly women also turned up at the venue.
The expo featured a wide variety of stalls, including traditional Charsadda sandals, local jaggery, handmade goods, various fruits, and sweets.
The non-governmental organizations had also set up stalls at the expo.
Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Commissioner Qaiser Khan said the government was taking steps to support local businesses.
He said the holding of the expo was also part of the efforts to promote local goods and provide a platform to new startups.
The deputy commissioner said that another key objective of the expo was to ensure market access for products made by local skilled women.
