Ad hoc lecturers protest continues
PESHAWAR: The protest camp set up by the ad hoc lecturers against the non-payment of salaries and regularisation of services entered the 21st consecutive day on Tuesday.
President of the Provincial Ad Hoc Lecturers Association Afsar Khan, general secretary Safiullah and others told the reporters at the camp, that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government had constituted a committee for the regularisation of the services of ad hoc lecturers on February 16 this year.
They said the committee comprised of Khyber Pakhtun-khwa Assembly Speaker Assad Qaiser, Provincial Minister for Higher Education Mushtaq Ghani and heads of concerned departments. They said the committee had submitted its report to the government. They alleged that the Establishment Department was creating hurdles to issuance of the summary about the regularisation of their services.They threatened to set up a protest camp outside the Bani Gala residence of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf chief Imran Khan in Islamabad if the government didn’t accept their demands.
