GCU teachers concerned over delay in VC’s appointment
LAHORE : Academic Staff Association (ASA) of the GC University has expressed serious concerns over the delay in appointment of a regular Vice Chancellor at GCU Lahore and absence of even an interim VC.
An emergent meeting of the Academic Staff Association GC University, Lahore, presided by the President Prof Muhammad Noman Aftab was held on Friday in which the ASA representatives showed serious concern over the delay in appointment of the permanent Vice Chancellor position at GCU Lahore.
They said the situation was so bad that the tenure of the acting VC ended three days ago and now the university was functioning even without the head of the institution.
The ASA president said that despite the completion of the selection process for the permanent VC, the faculty of GCU is still facing miserable affairs of the poor administration for over a year and still looking for a new academic leader. This prolonged delay has severely affected the administrative and academic efficiency of this great institution, so the quarters concerned must act decisively to ensure that the appointment of the VC at GCU is made without further impediments to restoring normalcy and stability.
