LAHORE: The Pakistan Auto Parts Show (PAPS) 2024, organised by the Pakistan Association of Automotive Parts and Accessories Manufacturers (PAAPAM), opened on Friday at the Lahore Expo Centre.
The three-day event, running from October 25 to 27, brings together 150 exhibitors, including 44 international exhibitors, 51 PAAPAM members, 12 sponsors and 43 local exhibitors, displaying the latest advancements in the automotive parts industry under this year’s theme, ‘Industrial Pakistan’.
The day began with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, officially inaugurating the event. Key figures such as the chief guest, Minister of State Finance Ali Pervaiz Malik, and President of the Lahore Chamber of Commerce & Industry (LCCI) Mian Abuzar Shad were in attendance. They were joined by PAAPAM Chairman Usman Aslam Malik and other dignitaries who toured the exhibition halls, interacting with exhibitors displaying cutting-edge technologies that aim to drive Pakistan’s auto industry forward.
Following the tour, an opening ceremony was held in the convention centre, gathering industry leaders, stakeholders and international delegates to discuss the sector’s rapid development and its future potential.
PAPS 2024 highlights the role of the automotive industry in Pakistan’s economic growth, with displays from local manufacturers, Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), and international companies. The event also offers an industrial visit programme, allowing attendees to tour OEM facilities and witness the manufacturing processes up close.
The LCCI president praised the event’s contributions to Pakistan’s industrial progress, noting, “PAPS has been a critical force in driving innovation and growth in the automotive sector. By bringing together local manufacturers and international partners, this show continues to foster industrial development and strengthen Pakistan’s economy.”
Adding to the hands-on experience, the Test Drive Area behind Halls 1 and 3 allows visitors to try out the latest vehicle models from top auto manufacturers, providing a unique and practical insight into the latest innovations in automotive technology.The PAAPAM chairman expressed optimism about the event’s impact, stating, “PAPS 2024 is a testament to the resilience and innovation of Pakistan’s auto industry. By bringing together OEMs, manufacturers and industry leaders under one roof -- including our international partners -- we aim to foster collaboration, innovation, and sustainable growth for the future of automotive manufacturing in Pakistan.”
The extensive schedule includes interactive sessions, exhibitions and industrial visits, setting a promising start on Day 1. As the show continues over the next two days, attendees can look forward to further insightful discussions, valuable networking opportunities, and comprehensive exhibitions that celebrate the continued growth and innovation within Pakistan’s automotive sector.
