ISLAMABAD: The federal government has banned foreign study tours of senior bureaucrats attending the National Management Course.
The Establishment Division, after approval of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to ban foreign study tours under National Management Course (NMC), has issued the notification
Section Officer, Training Wing, Establishment Division, has formally informed Rector National School of Public Policy Lahore about the decision of the prime minister.
The NSPP had sent a letter to the Establishment Division seeking permission for foreign study tours of NMC participants. In reply, the NSPP was told the PM has banned foreign study tours with an immediate effect.
The Establishment Division directed the NSPP to cancel not only foreign tours of participants of 121st NMC, but also not to arrange any such tours in future.
According to sources, the decision has been taken to save foreign exchange. The NMC is attended by Grade-20 officers from various service groups.
