ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Minister for Industries and Production, Rana Tanveer Hussain, and Saudi Arabia’s governor for small and medium enterprises (SME) have reached a consensus to enhance bilateral cooperation in the SME sector, according to a statement from Pakistan’s Ministry of Industries and Production released on Thursday.

Hussain is currently in Saudi Arabia to attend the United Nations Multilateral Industrial Policy Forum (MIPF), which is taking place from October 23 to 24 in Riyadh.

The forum convenes international delegates to discuss strategies for industrial growth and the promotion of sustainable practices.

During his visit, Minister Hussain engaged in discussions with the Saudi SME governor, focusing on exploring areas of mutual interest and potential collaboration. “Cooperation among small and medium enterprises will be increased,” the ministry’s statement highlighted, signaling a proactive approach to strengthening economic ties between the two nations.

Both parties also agreed to facilitate increased visits by business professionals between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, a move aimed at fostering closer business relationships and enhancing trade opportunities.
