Six injured in Killa Saifullah motorcycle bomb blast

Police say, unknown miscreants planted an explosive device in a motorbike and parked it in front of a shop where tribal elder was having lunch

QUETTA: Six people, including a tribal elder were injured in a motorcycle bomb blast that took place at the main chowk of the Kila Saifullah town, on Thursday.

Officials said that the blast took place close to the vehicle of tribal elders Nawabzada Mehboob Khan Jogezai which was parked in front of a shop where he was having lunch with friends.

“Six people including Mr. Jogezai were injured in the blast,” a senior police officer said, adding that soon after the blast Police and personnel of other law enforcement institutions rushed to the site and shifted the injured to district hospital.

Police said that unknown miscreants planted an explosive device in a motorbike and parked it in front of a shop where the tribal elder was having lunch. “The vehicle was badly damaged in the blast,” police said, adding that the injured were a shopkeeper and passersby.

Hospital officials said that two injured who had received multiple injuries have been shifted to the trauma centre of Civil Hospital Quetta. Five of the six injured were identified as Nawabzada Mehboob Khan Jogezai, Raz Muhammad, Mazullah, Sultan Muhammad and Gulab Khan.

Police have registered a case against unknown people and started an investigation. No one has claimed responsibility for the blast so far.
