Interfaith child protection forum initiated
PESHAWAR: The Islamic Relief Pakistan initiated “Interfaith Child Protection Forum” in the provincial capital on Thursday.
Funded by Unicef Pakistan in collaboration with KP Child Protection and Welfare Commission, the initiative brought together leaders and representatives from various communities to address the critical issue of child protection.
Ijaz, chief officer KPCPWC, appreciated the forum where unity of all faith leaders from Sikh, Hindu, Christian and Muslims communities gathered and raised a unified voice that advocates for the safety, dignity, and future of all children.
Interfaith forum addressed child protection issues preventing and responding to cases of child abuse, exploitation, and neglect advocating for child-friendly proposed policies and
legislations. Foster collaboration between faith communities and line departments to develop strategies to combat child abuse, neglect, early child marriages and exploitation.
