PESHAWAR: Commissioner, Peshawar Division, Riaz Khan Mahsud has issued strict directives to finalise all administrative and security measures for the upcoming national anti-polio campaign, which will begin from October 28 to November 3.

Chairing a meeting of the Divisional Task Force, he called for coordination among district administrations to ensure the success of the drive, warning that accountability measures would be strictly enforced.

Commissioner Riaz Mahsud emphasized a zero-tolerance policy for negligence, stating that officials showing exceptional performance will be rewarded, while those falling short of their responsibilities could face dismissal. “We are entering a critical phase in the fight against polio and there will be no compromise on performance,” he said.

Senior officials from Peshawar, Nowshera, Charsadda, Mohmand, and Khyber districts, including deputy commissioners, district police officers, and Health Department representatives, attended the meeting. Detailed briefings were given on the status of previous campaigns, with special attention to the security of polio workers and logistical readiness for the upcoming drive.

Commissioner Riaz Mahsud assured that he would personally monitor the campaign’s progress to ensure smooth execution across all districts. “Our efforts must be relentless, and I will oversee every step to guarantee the safety of our teams and the success of the mission,” he added.
