LAHORE:After being closed for over a week due to violent protests, campuses of a private group of colleges finally reopened on Thursday, with academic activities resuming under tight police security.
The closure, which began on October 15, was sparked by protests over an alleged on-campus rape incident, leading to property damage and disrupting students’ education. While an inquiry committee later found the incident to be fake and baseless, the delay in resuming classes worried students and parents. Now, with heightened security, normal academic activities have resumed.
