LG reps demonstrate against Multan DCO

MULTAN: Union council chairmen and councillors belonging to the PML-N, the PTI and the Azad group staged a demonstration against the DCO for allegedly humiliating and insulting local government representatives.
The protesters led by UC-27 Chairman Khawaja Suleman Siddique, UC-32 Chairman Malik Adnan Dogar and UC-5 Chairman Rao Mazharul Islam staged a demonstration at Chowk Kutchery. They were chanting slogans against the DCO. They were also carrying placards and banners. The protesters announced that the protest would continue till the transfer of the DCO. Speaking on the occasion, Khawaja Suleman Siddique said that several city areas had been inundated with sewage. He alleged that the DCO registered a case against UC Chairman Salimullah when he protested against the poor cleanliness. He further alleged that the DCO had humiliated all the LG representatives. He said that protest was the right each citizen on failing to get relief on solution to the public issues but the DCO had no right to arrest the local government representatives at the cost of protest. He claimed that UC Chairman Salimullah Khan repeatedly requested the DCO for cleanliness in his area but he did not pay any heed.
UC-32 Chairman Adnan Dogar condemned the arrest of his colleague. The UC chairmen demanded withdrawal of a case against their colleague Salimullah.
Bomb hoax at Nishtar Hospital

MULTAN: A bomb hoax call created panic in the Nishtar Hospital on Tuesday.
An anonymous call was received, informing that a bomb had been planted in the hospital. Following the information, heavy contingents of police along with the bomb disposal squad reached the hospital and declared the premises clear after a thorough search.
Meanwhile, talking to journalists, City Police Officer Azhar Ikram said that a journalist received a call on his mobile phone from 0017027183444 and the anonymous caller informed him that a bomb had been planted in the hospital ward No-14.
