‘Welfare projects to be launched by Dec 1’
PESHAWAR: Various welfare initiatives would be launched in the province by December 1, 2024, a meeting was told on Wednesday.
Chief Minister Ali Amin Khan Gandapur presided over the meeting. It was decided that the projects, including the Ehsaas Naujwan Rozgar Scheme, Ehsaas Hunar Programme, Ehsaas Apna Ghar Scheme, and Ehsaas Rozgar Programme would be launched formally by December1, 2024.
The chief minister directed that all necessary arrangements and prerequisites for implementing these programmes be completed as soon as possible, emphasizing that these are public welfare initiatives aimed at providing employment opportunities and empowering the youth of this province; there is no room for delay in their implementation. The meeting was attended by provincial cabinet members Syed Qasim Ali Shah, Syed Fakhr Jahan, Dr. Amjad Ali Khan, Chief Secretary Nadeem Aslam Chaudhry, and administrative secretaries of the relevant departments, said a handout.
Briefing about the progress on the programmes, it was informed that under the Ehsaas Naujwan Rozgar Scheme, soft loans ranging from Rs.1.00 million to Ra.10 million would be provided to youth, adding that the preference would be given to clusters of three to five skilled youth for loan disbursement. Similarly, the Ehsaas Hunar Programme will offer interest-free loans up to 500,000 rupees to graduates or diploma/certificate holders from technical and vocational institutions, thereby enabling them to start their own business. Under the Ehsaas Apna Ghar Scheme, interest-free loans will be provided to low-income people for building new homes, extension and renovating of existing homes. The chief minister directed the quarters concerned to complete all preparations for these mass wedding programs as early as possible.
