CM wants better treatment facilities in cardiac hospitals

LAHORE:The meeting of the Steering/Advisory Committee for Cardiovascular Diseases was held in the Department of Specialized Health Care and Medical Education under the chairmanship of Provincial Health Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique. Punjab Health Secretary Azmat Mahmud attended the meeting. Prof Farqad Alamgir, Dr Adnan Khan, Vice Chancellor University of Child Health Sciences Prof Masood Sadiq, Principal Allama Iqbal Medical College Prof Asghar Naqi, Prof Zubair Akram and Principal Sahiwal Teaching College Prof Imran Hasan Khan were also present.

The members of the steering committee took important decisions on various agendas during the meeting. During the meeting, it was decided to purchase angiography machines for Sahiwal Teaching Hospital and Samli Hospital, Murree, and the Clinical HR model was also discussed. The construction of Cardiac and Neurosurgery Hospital in Gujranwala was discussed.

Health Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique said that the capacity of cardiac and neurosurgery departments of Khawaja Safdar Medical Hospital Sialkot and Gujranwala Teaching Hospital is being increased. Punjab Institute of Cardiology 2 was also discussed. Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz wants to provide better treatment facilities in cardiac hospitals in the province. Special Secretaries Tariq Mehmood and Syed Wajid Ali Shah, Additional Secretary Development Dr Wahid Asghar and officers of PITB also participated in the meeting.
