Sindh PDWP approves 12 development schemes worth Rs4.8bn

KARACHI: The Sindh Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) has approved 12 schemes worth Rs 4.8 billion in the planning and development department, covering the transport and mass transit, local government, irrigation, and public health engineering departments.

During a meeting chaired by Planning & Development Board Chairman Najam Ahmed Shah, the PDWP approved various projects, including the improvement and extension of the supply of water in the Gorakh Hill Taluka of Johi, District Dadu, valued at Rs 262.841 million.

The PDWP also approved the construction of an inter-city bus terminal at Thul, costing Rs187.06 million, and the upgrade/installation of traffic signals at three junctions in Hyderabad, amounting to Rs 157.717 million.

In the irrigation department, five schemes were approved, including the rehabilitation of the Sindh Canal from RD100 to 140 in the Sukkur Begari Bund division, valued at Rs 250 million. One scheme was approved in the local government department, which includes the construction, repair, and maintenance of mosques, churches, and Imambargahs in Taluka Rohri and Pano Aqil UC Tamachani Old Sukkur, worth Rs 150 million.
