ISLAMABAD: The Adiala Jail administration has submitted a report to the court regarding Bushra Bibi.

The report, submitted to Special Judge Central Shahrukh Arjumand, states that Bushra Bibi is being held in a highly secure cell within the women’s ward. Jail staff are not allowed to enter her cell without the explicit permission of the jail superintendent.

According to the report, highly trained professional staff have been assigned to Bushra Bibi, and a female medical officer has been appointed to oversee her care.

Additionally, a team of six senior doctors from Holy Family Hospital in Rawalpindi conducts her medical check-ups weekly.

The report further mentions that a doctor is available to her 24/7, and expert doctors from Islamabad also visit the prison weekly to examine inmates. Bushra Bibi is provided with all necessary medical and basic facilities as per the jail manual.

It was also noted that Adiala Jail is one of the most sensitive prisons in the province, housing 8,000 prisoners despite having a capacity of only 3,000.

The jail holds political prisoners and high-profile inmates.

The report highlighted that, based on a special source, the Punjab government has imposed a ban on all prisoner meetings until October 25 due to security concerns.

The government has also ordered increased security in the jail, and mock exercises are being conducted in collaboration with law enforcement agencies.

As part of this emergency security plan, all prisoner meetings are temporarily suspended.

However, once the ban is lifted, Bushra Bibi’s meetings will be arranged under the established SOPs. The court adjourned further proceedings until October 25.
