Islamabad:In a tragic case of alleged honour killing, a 17-year-old orphan girl was brutally murdered by her brother in Golra area here on Monday. The suspect was arrested at the scene, police said.

According to Karamat Ali, the girl's uncle, he rushed to the house after hearing screams from his brother Amanat Ali’s residence near Golra Railway Station. Upon arrival, he found his niece, Zahra Bibi, lying in a pool of blood as her brother, Mohammad Zain, attacked her with a dagger. Despite efforts to stop him, Zahra had already succumbed to her injuries by the time police arrived. The killer was overpowered by locals and locked him in a room until police arrived to arrest him. The police have registered a First Information Report (FIR) under sections 302 and 311 of the Pakistan Penal Code and are investigating the incident. Zain, the suspect, alleged that his sister had been missing for over a year prior to the killing.

In a separate incident, Koral police recovered the body of a young man, identified as Majid Ali, from an under-construction building. Majid had been reported missing the previous day from Muslim Town, Rawalpindi. His body was found after police contacted his brother, who confirmed his disappearance. Both cases are under investigation as authorities continue their inquiries into these disturbing incidents.
