LAHORE: The Conquerors extended their unbeaten run in the Under-19 Women’s T20 Cricket Tournament with a 45-run victory over Challengers in the fifth round of the event at the LCCA Ground on Tuesday.

In the day’s second match, Strikers triumphed over Stars by 32 runs, recording their third win of the competition. In the first match the Conquerors, despite early shocks, being 31-5 at one stage, finally went on to score 77 runs before being all out in 18 overs.

Quratulain’s resilient knock of 18 off 30 at No.9 helped her team to reach this total. Aleesa Mukhtiar, Aqsa Bibi, Hadia Mina and Shehr Bano each claimed two wickets. In response Challengers struggled with the bat, collapsing to just 32 runs in 15.1 overs.

Minahil Javaid took three wickets while player of the match Quratulain got two wickets. Samiya Afsar claimed two wickets for just three runs. In the second match of the day Strikers set a target of 85-8 in 20 overs, thanks to Raahima Syed’s 26 runs, who replaced Maham Anees as a concussion substitute.

She was well-supported by Meerab Sheikh with a 50-run opening stand. For Stars, Adieyah Noor shone with 3-16. Stars faltered in their chase, managing only 53 runs before being bowled out in 16.1 overs. Maryam Bibi’s 10 runs was the highest contribution. Tayyaba Imdad, named player of the match, claimed 4-11, while Zoofishan Ayaz and Amina Abid also played key roles with two wickets each.
