LAHORE:Deputy Consul General of Turkiye Lahore Ali Arbash inaugurated a modern lab in the Punjab University Library to preserve the largest collection of hundreds of years old manuscripts in Pakistan at a ceremony held at PU Library here on Monday.
Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA)’s Country Head Muhsin Balci, Head of experts Ms Nil Baydar, Chief Librarian Dr M Haroon Usmani and others were present on this occasion. The lab is being funded by TIKA.
Speaking to the media, Ali Arbash said that PU had a huge collection of rare manuscripts, which would continue to be supported to ensure its preservation. He said that both Pakistan and Turkiye have deep religious and cultural ties. Muhsin Balci said that we had been working for a year for a modern lab to preserve manuscripts in PU.
