LAHORE :A gazette notification has been issued regarding imposition of Section 144. According to details, The Punjab government has amended the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1898, giving Deputy Commissioners the authority to impose Section 144 in their districts for up to 30 days.
The Home Secretary can enforce it province-wide for 90 days, with further extensions requiring cabinet approval. A gazette notification has been issued following Punjab Assembly's approval.
