Rape attempt foiled; suspect arrested

LAHORE:Badami Bagh police arrested a burger vendor accused of attempting to rape his 11-year-old helper. The victim, who worked with the accused at a burger stall, was allegedly taken to the suspect’s house late at night, where the crime was attempted. According to initial reports, the child did not return to work the following day. When questioned by his family, the boy revealed the horrifying details of the incident. The Joseph Colony Police arrested the accused, identified as Amjad. SP City Captain (Retd) Qazi Ali Raza confirmed the arrest. A case was registered.

Meanwhile, in another incident, a suspect was arrested with the help of the Virtual Women Police Station following an attempted assault on a woman in a private hostel. According to details, the victim called emergency number 15 to report the attempted assault. The woman, residing in a private hostel in Green Town, stated that the hostel manager called her into his office and tried to assault her. She managed to escape the room with great difficulty. The Safe Cities spokesperson said that the Virtual Women Police Station dispatched the police to the location. The police arrested the suspect and registered a case.

Injured woman dies in hospital

Three people, including an elderly woman, lost their lives in separate incidents across Lahore. According to an Edhi Foundation spokesperson, in Township, a 70-year-old unidentified woman, who was injured in a traffic accident six days ago, died in hospital. The accident occurred when the elderly woman was struck by a speeding car while crossing the road.

In another incident, the body of a 50-year-old unidentified man was discovered near Walton Road in the Factory Area. Similarly, a 40-year-old man was found dead in the Factory Area’s Chungi Amar Sadhu locality. According to the Edhi spokesperson, both men were drug addicts, and it is believed that they died due to a drug overdose. Edhi volunteers moved the bodies to the mortuary.
