LAHORE:Different petitioners from across the province lodged complaints with the office of the Punjab Ombudsman regarding illegal occupation of government lands and public pathways.
They requested that the state lands, seized by the grabbers, be recovered. In response, the Office of the Ombudsman Punjab ordered the provincial authorities concerned to reclaim the lands, which belongs to the provincial government, in accordance with the law.
Acting on these orders, a total of 120 kanals of government lands, worth over Rs11.6 million, have been retrieved across different districts. Additionally, through the efforts of the Punjab Ombudsman, public pathways, under illegal occupation, were also freed from the land mafia.
Moreover, longstanding complaints related to the transfer of land and issuance of sale deeds pending in government offices were resolved in line with the rules and principles of justice.
