Girls’ sports gala concludes on high note

Islamabad:A three-day sports carnival for girls, collaboratively organized by the Federal Ministry of Education and Vocational Training, the Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Islamabad, and the Federal Directorate of Education Islamabad, concluded at the Pakistan Sports Board on Sunday on a high note.

The final day of the carnival provided an exciting entertainment venue for spectators, mostly from Islamabad. The event's highlights included impressive performances of cultural and national sports songs, which contributed significantly to the festive atmosphere. Enthusiasts from across Pakistan and abroad took part in the festival, fully enjoying the vibrant event.

Among the attendees was Ambassador of Austria Andrea Wieck, who toured stalls and expressed delight and appreciation for the efforts made, while shopping from the vendors. Parliamentary Secretary Farah Naz Akbar, Brigadier Dr. Muhammad Naveed from the Army Public School System Rawalpindi, along with directors from the Federal Board and Federal Directorate, were also present.

The special guest, Federal Secretary for Education Mohyuddin Ahmad Wani, thanked all participants and expressed happiness at the large turnout, which, he said, highlighted the success of the event focused on schoolgirls.

Chairman of the Federal Board Syed Junaid Akhlaq said the board was committed not only to education but also to actively promoting sports, emphasizing plans to organise more competitions with a focus on women. At the conclusion of the carnival, cash prizes, medals, and certificates were given away to sports teams from all provinces of Pakistan, congratulating the winners while encouraging those who did not place to strive for better performance in future competitions.
