TAKHTBHAI: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) provincial president Syed Muhammad Ali Shah Bacha said on Sunday that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf-led Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government had failed to maintain law and order, combat terrorism and address the prolonged issues of electricity and gas loadshedding in the province.

“Unfortunately, the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are dealing with a non-serious and apolitical chief minister, who is using the youths of the province against Punjab and Islamabad,” he told reporters in Shergarh Town near here.

PPP local leaders, including Nawabzada Umar Farooq Khan, Asadullah Khan and PPP Mardan division spokesperson Ibrahim Syed Yusufzai were also present on the occasion. The PPP leader said that the province’s resources were being used for protests and rallies for non-issues, adding that youths were left defenseless against tear gas and batons, while Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur always disappeared from the scene.

“The PPP will not remain silent under the current circumstances. Soon, a call will be made for a protest against the dangerous level of corruption, financial crises, huge bribery in transfers, lawlessness, and terrorism in the province,” Muhammad Ali Shah Bacha said, adding that Gandapur Group would be confronted with full force.

He said that the Bhutto family and PPP workers had rendered matchless sacrifices for the nation, rule of law, justice, human rights and true democracy. Despite the terror attacks, including the Karsaz tragedy and bomb blasts, the morale of the party workers had never shaken, he added. The sacrifices of ZA Bhutto and Benazir Bhutto, he said, were a guiding line for the Jiyalas.

“Anti-democratic forces have never allowed democratic governments to flourish, from Liaquat Ali Khan to Benazir Bhutto. PPP has always fought against oppressors, tyrants, and dictators and its workers never toe their line,” the PPP ex-lawmaker said.

He added that during their coalition government from 2008 to 2013, they fought against terrorists in the province, during which around 80,000 to 90,000 lives, including civilians, police, and other security forces, were lost.

He criticized the PTI government in KP for failing to deliver on its promises of creating one million jobs and building five million homes. Despite this being his third term in power, he said the people of the province were being forced to lead a miserable life.He announced that PPP and the People’s Youth Organization (PYO) workers should remain alert, as the party will soon call for protests across the province.
