LAHORE : Vareesha, a distinguished alumna of one of Lahore's top private schools, recently returned to her alma mater to share her journey as a data scientist at Quantworks, a leading analytics firm in the United States.

The school, renowned for producing some of the city’s most accomplished professionals, welcomed her back to inspire students with her achievements in the dynamic field of data science and analytics.

During her talk, Vareesha discussed her pioneering work at Quantworks, where she developed a cutting-edge "size recommendation model" that has revolutionised inventory management for major US retailers.

This model not only helps retailers maintain optimal stock levels but also addresses one of fashion retail’s biggest challenges—accurately predicting size demand.

By minimising waste and improving customer satisfaction, her work has had a significant impact on operational efficiency.

Through the use of machine learning algorithms and data-driven strategies, Vareesha’s contributions have enabled businesses to make smarter decisions and optimise their inventory in real time.

She stressed the importance of continuous learning and highlighted the wide-ranging applications of data science across industries, encouraging students to explore the vast possibilities within data analytics.

“Data science is not just about numbers; it’s about solving real-world problems,” she said, urging students to think critically about how they can use technology to create societal benefits.
