Official says efforts on for wellbeing of journalists
MARDAN: A government official here on Saturday said the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government was working on several projects for the welfare of journalists.
These remarks were made by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information and Public Relations Department Secretary Arshad Khan, who paid a visit to the Mardan Press Club.
He said the government had provided grants to all registered press clubs in the province and would spare no effort to resolve the issues of the journalist community.
Mardan Press Club President Bashir Adil and General Secretary Akhunzada Fazal Haq along with other office-bearers and members welcomed the secretary information.
Arshad Khan said that journalists were the voice of the people against oppression and injustice. He said the journalists were working to highlight the problems of the common people.
The official said the journalists were also facing a host of problems, adding that the government would spare no effort to resolve their issues.
He said the government was trying to increase the allocation for the Endowment Fund for the welfare of the journalist community.
The secretary information went around various parts of the press club and
interacted with the journalists. He also appreciated the role of the journalists in highlighting the problems being faced by the people.
