KU students end protest after negotiations with VC
Negotiations between University of Karachi Vice Chancellor Dr Khalid Mahmood Iraqi and Student Alliance have been successful.
Student Alliance protested for an eighth day on Friday for the approval of their demands, finally ending their protest after successful negotiations with the VC.
According to the Student Alliance, the VC accepted 11 of the 14 demands of the students. However, the university administration claimed that only two demands had been accepted.
The late fee has been reduced from 50 per cent to 10 per cent, and the readmission fee will now be applicable after four semesters. The examination fee will now be charged per course, and there will be a 10 per cent increase in the semester fee.
The authority to determine ineligible fees at KU will be granted to the chairpersons of the departments.
