NH&MP aims to promote safety on motorways, highways, says IG

LAHORE: Inspector General of National Highways and Motorway Police, Salman Chaudhry, emphasised the importance of disciplined training and professional capacity development at National Highway and Motorway Police (NH&MP) Training College, Sheikhupura.

He was addressing the participants during the inaugural ceremony of new facilities, including staff hostels, mess halls, libraries, and computer labs. The Additional IG Ali Ahmed Sabir Kayani, Commandant Training College DIG Syed Fareed Ali, DIG Masroor Alam Kolachi, Deputy Commandant Imdad Ullah Shahid and officers were present on the occasion. The IG Salman Chaudhry emphasised that a well-trained staff is crucial for the Motorway Police Training College. He stressed that professional training is vital for officers, highlighting the institution’s significant role in shaping Pakistan’s law enforcement and road safety. The NH&MP aims to promote safety on motorways and highways through effective enforcement and assistance to road users, and high standards of courtesy, integrity, and professionalism, he added.

On this occasion, Salman Chaudhry inaugurated staff college hostel, library, IT labs, mess hall, and the NH&MP Training College website. IG also chaired a meeting to discuss professional affairs and ongoing development projects at the training college, focusing on enhancing its infrastructure and capabilities. During the meeting, Commandant Training College DIG Syed Fareed Ali provided a comprehensive briefing on the college’s training and development initiatives, highlighting its progress and future plans.
