Govt urged to ensure free quality education for all
LAHORE: Wapda continues its efforts to provide affordable electricity while focusing on employee welfare.
In addition to building new dams, Wapda has established schools and colleges in various locations to offer free education to the children of its employees. The All Pakistan Wapda Hydro Electric Workers Union has also set up free computer education facilities in several cities.
Addressing students at Bakhtiar Labour Hall, here, Wapda’s General Manager (C&M), Muhammad Azam Joyia, emphasised the importance of education for self-reliance and unemployment reduction. Union General Secretary Khursheed Ahmad urged the government to ensure free quality education for all children, noting that over 30 million are deprived of schooling due to poverty.
