ISLAMABAD: Noman Ali, who returned with one of the best innings figures (8-46) for Pakistan, has engraved his name among the top five achievers.

Abdul Qadir (9-56), Sarfraz Nawaz (9-86), Yasir Shah (8-41) and Sajid Khan (8-42) are the other top achievers for the country when it comes to best innings figures in Test cricket. “I tried my best to introduce variety, both in speed and trajectory. I knew well that England batsmen would attack and the best way on this responsive wicket was to keep them guessing as to what speed I would deliver the next ball. They miscued and sometimes missed the flight as my effort was to keep them guessing.”

Noman fully enjoyed bowling on the drier track. “It was really encouraging to see playing on the track responding well. It was all about bowling with the tight line and length.” The left-arm spinner said when he last played for the country, he took seven wickets.

“I have been consistent and always tried to help the team win matches.” The spinner enjoyed bowling in tandem with Sajid Khan. “We have been training and playing together. We know each other well. It was really exciting to bowl in the company of Sajid Khan.”
