In yet another incident of police misconduct, a police officer shot and injured a citizen during a minor dispute in District East of Karachi on Thursday.
ASI Abbas Siyal, in-charge of the New Sabzi Mandi police post, allegedly opened fire on Ghazi, injuring him. Ghazi was rushed to hospital for treatment. Siyal fled the scene but was later taken into custody and shifted to the Site Superhighway police station.
Senior officials took notice of the incident, and Siyal was detained, but no case had registered against him till the filing of this news story.
