KARACHI: The Karachi Cotton Association (KCA) informed on Thursday that Mohomed Bashir has been appointed as the new president of the International Cotton Association (ICA), becoming the first Pakistani to assume this prestigious role. This achievement reflects Pakistan’s growing influence in the global cotton and textile industry.

With over 40 years of experience, Bashir has made significant contributions to both national and international trade. As chairman of Gul Ahmed Textile Mills Limited, a leading Pakistani textile company, he has played a key role in expanding its global presence and reputation for quality. His leadership has consistently driven innovation and excellence in the sector.

Bashir’s impressive career includes leadership roles such as president of the International Textile Manufacturers Federation (ITMF), chairman of the All Pakistan Textile Mills Association (APTMA), and chairman of the Pakistan Business Council (PBC). His appointment to the ICA reflects his vast experience and commitment to advancing the cotton industry.
