Two suspected robbers arrested in Korangi shootout

The District Korangi police arrested two suspects in an injured state following an encounter on Wednesday, where they were allegedly involved in looting factory workers.

According to District Korangi SSP Kamran Khan, the exchange of fire occurred at Zia Colony, Link Road, within the jurisdiction of the Korangi police station. The suspects, identified as Farooq and Imtiaz, were injured during the shootout as they attempted to rob factory workers. SSP Khan reported that the Korangi police were on routine patrol near Incholi Chowk when they signalled to suspicious motorcyclists to pull up near Zia Colony. The suspects attempted to flee, opening fire on the police, who returned fire.

Both injured suspects were apprehended, and police recovered two TT pistols, stolen mobile phones, and a motorcycle used in their activities. Witnesses praised the police for their swift response during the confrontation. The suspects had been transferred to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for treatment.
