Over Rs2.1 million for cops treatment

LAHORE:Inspector General of Police (IGP) Punjab Dr Usman Anwar Wednesday released over Rs 2.1 million for medical treatment of cops.

The IGP released Rs1million for cancer treatment of cop Imran Khan of Faisalabad, Rs 250,000 for medical treatment of senior clerk Muhammad Israr-ul-Haq, Rs 500,000 for brain tumour treatment of Inspector Haroon Ilahi of Multan, Rs 100,000 for cancer treatment of M Imran and Rs 100,000 for eye operation of constable Zeeshan Akram. The IGP sanctioned Rs 75,000 each for constable Ahmad Sher and ASI Mahmood Ahmad for medical issues and Rs 50,000 for treatment of a leg fracture of Constable Ali Raza.

189 booked in smog-related cases

The Lahore Police registered 189 cases and arrested 201 accused in connection with smog prevention efforts during nine months. According to a Lahore police spokesperson, the police booked accused in the City Division, in Cantonment, in Civil Lines, Sadr, Iqbal Town and in Model Town divisions.
