ISLAMABAD: Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore will be a 34,000 capacity stadium after the upgradation currently underway.
The capacity of the stadium stands at 21,500 seats which will be enhanced to 34,000 after the completion by December 31. The other salient features of the upgradation include enhancement in viewing. The re-profiling of enclosures will enhance the viewing experience with improved sightlines. This ensures spectators have a clearer, more comfortable view of the field.
The stands are being relocated 20 feet closer to the action. This adjustment will create a more immersive and electrifying atmosphere for the spectators. A moat is being introduced around the field to eliminate the need for fences. This allows fans to enjoy uninterrupted views of the game.
New LED lights of the latest technology will also be installed. The installation of new LED lights will significantly increase the lux level, improving the overall visibility and quality for both in-person and televised viewing.
Furthermore, the cutting-edge, high-resolution screens will provide clear and detailed visuals. Fans will have a more engaging experience with sharper replays and live scores. Other upgradation at the venue include the new, high-quality imported seating that will be installed for the spectators. These chairs offer greater comfort and durability, aligning with global stadium standards.
A modern pavilion building is being built to meet ICC requirements. It will offer enhanced facilities for players, officials, and VIP guests. In addition, twenty luxury hospitality boxes are being added, providing a top-tier experience. These will offer exclusive services and comfort for premium ticket-holders.
