The democratic aspirations of the people of Pakistan remain unfulfilled, despite the passage of several decades since independence. Both elected and unelected governments have repeatedly made promises that have largely not been met. The dream of establishing a true democratic and welfare state, as envisioned by the country’s founding fathers, has become a distant one. Today, the ordinary citizen finds himself sidelined, with little to no representation in the ruling elite's agenda. Political leaders appear more engrossed in power struggles and personal gain than in addressing critical issues.
As a result, the gap between the powerful and the ordinary citizens widens, leaving many to wonder whether genuine efforts will ever be made to uplift the suffering masses. In this environment of political instability and neglect, one cannot help but feel disheartened by the state of governance in Pakistan. The time has come for Pakistan’s leadership to shift its focus from political infighting to the welfare of the people.
