Gilgit-Baltistan’s share
By our correspondents
May 31, 2016
It is tragic that not a single project has been earmarked for Gilgit-Baltistan in the $46 billion CPEC. All the money and projects have been shared among four provinces. It was claimed that Gilgit-Baltistan would be given $980 million and two economic zones would also be set up in the region. So far these have remained mere claims, and there has been no progress on the ground.
The people of Gilgit-Baltistan are also patriotic Pakistanis. Being the gateway to the CPEC, Gilgit-Baltistan should be given the same status as Gwadar.
