The depression over the central Arabian Sea has moved further west-northwestward during the past 10 hours and now lies over the west-central Arabian Sea at around Latitude 16.2N & Longitude 61.0E, said a Pakistan Meteorological Department statement on Monday.

It is at a distance of about 1,150 kilometres southwest of Karachi, 1,080 kilometres southwest of Ormara, 1,010 kilometres south of Gwadar, 520 kilometers southeast of Masirah, Oman and 740 kilometres east of Salalah, Oman.

The system is likely to move further west towards the Oman coast and weaken into a well-marked low-pressure area during next 12 hours. Squally winds with speed of 30-40km/hour gusting 50km/hour are likely around the system centre with the sea condition expected to remain rough till tomorrow. The fishermen of Balochistan are advised to remain careful and avoid going to deep sea till tomorrow. None of the Pakistan coastal areas is under any threat from this system.
