12 gamblers held
Rawalpindi:Police have arrested twelve gamblers and recovered stake amount Rs23,350; 12 mobile phones from their possession during crackdown on Monday.
According to police spokesman, Waris Khan police conducted raid and arrested four gamblers who were identified as Sohail, Alamgir, Aslam, and Qasim. During operation, Police were found with Rs22,500 in cash, four mobile phones from their custody. Similarly, New Town police apprehended eight more gamblers include Daulat Khan, Abdullah, Raheel, Ghulam Abbas, Riaz, Hanif, Shaukat, and Muhammad Arshad.
The police seized Rs850, eight mobile phones from them. Police have registered separate cases against all of them and further investigation was underway. SP (Rawal) Mohammad Haseeb Raja commended police team for swift action emphasized that gambling leads to other social evils and vowed that operations against gamblers will be continued.
