As Pakistan prepares to host the SCO summit, yet another violent clash erupted at Quaid-e-Azam University. The clash saw gunshots, rooms being set on fire and students beating each other with sticks and rods and left at least seven students injured. This incident follows a violent clash that took place last month, leaving at least 25 students injured. The boys hostel of QAU has now been closed due to the upcoming SCO meeting in Islamabad.
The question remains: who is truly responsible for this chaos? Is it the students who initiated the violence? Or is it the university administration and the authorities, which failed to act promptly? Whatever the answer, the situation demands urgent and serious handling.
