ISLAMABAD: The 239th meeting of the Council of Islamic Ideology (CII) has been summoned here on October 21.
Chairman Council Dr. Raghib Hussain Naeemi would chair the meeting to discuss a matter related to the Human Milk Bank which was established in Karachi and was later shut down on receiving objections from the religious circles.
The Sindh Institute of Child had written a letter to the Council seeking its opinion on the issue.
The CII meeting would also take up for consideration the Muslim Family Laws (Amendment) Bill, 2024 and preparing rules of the Waqaf Act, 2020.
The meeting would also discuss 2024 package as received from the prime minister to empower women and four bills related to the family laws.
The Ministry of Law and Justice has also sent a query to the CII for addition of Thalassemia test in the Nikkah and marriage registration form.
The meeting would also discuss assisting the Council Supreme Court in the hearing of an appeal by a Shariat Appellate Bench against decision of the Shariat Court on reforms in the election laws.
