Trader of motorcycle parts shot dead in District Central
A man was shot dead while he was travelling in a car with his brother in District Central on Friday.
The man, identified as 54-year-old Asif, son of Ibrahim, was severely injured following the firing incident. Police and rescue workers transported him to a private hospital where he succumbed to his injuries during treatment.
Police said the deceased man was a trader of motorcycle parts and ran a shop in Saddar. He was returning home after closing his shop with his brother and his employee was following them on a motorcycle.
A bullet struck Asif inside the car, leaving him critically injured, police said, adding that they were trying to find out whether the firing took place in a mugging bid or the man was shot over some personal enmity.
According to the employee's statement, two suspects on a motorcycle signalled the car to stop, and when it did not, they opened fire. The victim was a resident of North Nazimabad Block A.
