Lecture held on mental wellbeing of young girls
Islamabad: An insightful lecture on "Mental Wellbeing of Young Girls" was delivered by Ayesha Kayani, Principal, IMCG (PG), F-7/4, Islamabad here on Friday. The lecture was delivered with reference to the Worlds Mental Health Day.
The lecture was organised by the student’s club, The Communicators, Department of Mass Communication. The session aimed to raise awareness among young girls about the importance of mental health and strategies for promoting their wellbeing.
Ms. Ayesha while addressing the students highlighted the alarming statistics of mental health issues among young girls, citing WHO reports. She discussed sociocultural factors contributing to mental health challenges, including gender roles, societal expectations, and media representation. The lecture emphasised common mental health issues faced by young girls.
